Impact Features Induced by Single Fast Ions of Different Charge-State on Muscovite Mica

چکیده

The influence of the charge state q on surface modifications induced by impact individual fast, heavy ions muscovite mica was investigated. Beams 593 MeV 197Auq+ with well-defined initial states over a relatively broad range values (30 to 51) and at different irradiation geometries were used. At normal incidence, features are rounded protrusions (hillocks) ≳20 nm in diameter. grazing angles, besides hillocks, craters elongated tails (up 350 nm-long) extending along direction ion penetration produced. It is shown that incidence depend strongly projectiles. This dependence very weak angles as reaches equilibrium closer surface. hillock volume scales q3.3 ± 0.6. stems largely from increase height, diameter observed.

the impact of skopos on syntactic features of the target text

the present study is an experimental case study which investigates the impacts, if any, of skopos on syntactic features of the target text. two test groups each consisting of 10 ma students translated a set of sentences selected from advertising texts in the operative and informative mode. the resulting target texts were then statistically analyzed in terms of the number of words, phrases, si...

Complex Behavior of Caffeine Crystallites on Muscovite Mica Surfaces

Defined fabrication of organic thin films is highly desired in technological, as well as pharmaceutical, applications since morphology and crystal structure are directly linked to physical, electrical, and optical properties. Within this work, the directed growth of caffeine deposited by hot wall epitaxy (HWE) on muscovite mica is studied. Optical and atomic force microscopy measurements reveal...

Water-gated charge doping of graphene induced by mica substrates.

We report on the existence of water-gated charge doping of graphene deposited on atomically flat mica substrates. Molecular films of water in units of ~0.4 nm thick bilayers were found to be present in regions of the interface of graphene/mica heterostacks prepared by micromechanical exfoliation of kish graphite. The spectral variation of the G and 2D bands, as visualized by Raman mapping, show...

Dynamics of charging of muscovite mica: measurement and modeling.

The advent of a new method for measuring the zeta potential of planar surfaces, the rotating disk, allowed the investigation of the charging process of mica after immersion in water. The zeta potential of freshly cleaved muscovite mica was recorded within seconds of immersion of the sample and in fractions of a second thereafter. The zeta potential of mica in water at pH = 5.6 with no added pot...

Experimental investigation of the dissolution of quartz by a muscovite mica surface: Implications for pressure solution

[1] Using the surface forces apparatus, which can measure small changes in thickness occurring even at essentially geological timescales, we have measured dissolution of quartz sheets when pressed against muscovite mica surfaces in aqueous electrolyte solution, but no dissolution is observed under dry conditions. It is postulated that the dissolved quartz may reprecipitate outside the contact j...
